Bondi Group 1 & 2 are examples of an exploration into a freer and slightly abstracted approach to figurative composition. An early 20th century photo in which Jackie’s late father Hugh Horrex is seen posing with a group of friends on Bondi Beach, inspired numerous works on paper during the later years of Des’s life.
